ICC T20 Rankings 2016 Cricket

Updated on: 24-09-2017 Author: T20 WC 2016

Like all the other world cups, the ICC T20 ranking of different teams is also important for the ICC T20 world cup 2016. In this world cup, there are total two groups while the top 8 teams have already qualified for the 2nd and main round. At the moment, Sri Lanka is on the top of ICC T20 ranking while the other 7 teams from 2nd to 8th position are India, Australia, West Indies, Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand and England respectively. All these 8 teams have qualified for the 2nd round of ICC world cup 2016.

Now the low rank full member teams of Bangladesh and Zimbabwe will play the 1st round after the other 6 teams will qualify for the 1st round of ICC T20 world cup 2016 from the ICC world cup qualifier which will be held this year in July. These rankings are based on the performance of a team. More wins will make the rank of a team high while losing matches will make the rank low for a team.

Opposing team is also important in determining the points of a win or loses. If a high rank team loses a match against a low rank team then the points of both the teams will change much. On the other hand, if a high rank team wins a match against a low rank team then the points of both the teams will not alter much.
