Zimbabwe Team Squad T20 World Cup 2016

Zimbabwe gained the test status in international cricket in 1992 and the team has qualified now to play the 1st round of T20 world cup 2016 which will start from 11th March 2016. Zimbabwe can also qualify for the 2nd or super 10 round of the T20 world cup if it could achieve 1st or 2nd position in the first round. There will be total 8 teams in the 1st round and top 2 will qualify for the 2nd round. Zimbabwe has participated in 4 T20 world cups while it withdrew from the 2nd T20 world cup of 2009. In these world cups, Zimbabwe could not progress beyond 2nd round. So far in the T20 world cups, Zimbabwe has played 9 matches, won 3 matches, lost 6 of them and their winning percentage remained 33.33%.

The captain of Zimbabwe T20 team is Elton Chigumbura who is an all rounder while other important players in the team are Sean Williams, Brian Vitori, Hamilton Masakadza, Vusi Sibanda, Sikandar Raza, Charles Coventry, Greame Cremer, Stuart Matsikenyeri, Craig Ervine, Tawanda Mupariwa, Tendal Chatara, Christopher Mpofu, Prosper Utseya and Chamu Chibhabha. Zimbabwe world cup 2016 squad will be selected among these players and it is a well balanced side with several good all rounders, bowlers and batsmen.
